Volunteering at the Community Crisis Center, Inc.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Community Crisis Center, Inc. (CCC)! Volunteers are at the heart of our operations, making it possible for us to accomplish vitally important tasks we simply could not otherwise do.

Please review the following volunteer requirements and policies, and then complete our volunteer application at the bottom of this page. Once we receive your application, we’ll contact you to set up an interview with CCC’s Executive Director.

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers must meet the following requirements:

    • Complete and submit the volunteer application

    • Successfully complete an interview with CCC’s Executive Director.

    • Be at least 15 years old. Volunteers younger than 15 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian. The minor and chaperon must both register individually to volunteer.  If you have further age requirement questions for specific situations please email info@communitycrisiscenterinc.org

    • Able  to lift at least 30 pounds unless assigned to a desk task in advance.

    • Wear closed-toe shoes.

    • Be flexible. CCC makes an effort to assign volunteers to their desired tasks and stations, but this is not always possible due to shifting needs and circumstances.

    • Be timely. Call at least a day in advance for a substitute if you’re unable to volunteer for a scheduled shift.

    • Follow all CCC Policies , including the COVID-19 Precaution Policies.

CCC’s COVID-19 Precaution Policies

Due to COVID-19 concerns, CCC has closed its physical facility to clients until further notice. Clients receive food bags and toiletries via contactless driveway delivery twice a week. Home deliveries are made to seniors and others in need. Additional items such as diapers, feminine hygiene products, and face masks are offered when available.

We have adopted the following to ensure the health and well-being of our volunteers:

    • No more than ten volunteers on site – All work will be performed in teams of NO MORE THAN TEN.

    • Masks and gloves – All volunteers are required to wear a mask , which covers both nose and mouth and gloves supplied by CCC.

    • Social distancing – Volunteers will be stationed at a minimum of six feet from one another.

    • Hygiene – We regularly clean all high contact surfaces (e.g., door handles, handrails, sinks, bathrooms, tables, etc.), and all volunteers are required to wash their hands when they arrive, as necessary throughout their shifts, and again before they leave.

Please Do NOT volunteer if any of the following apply to you:

    • You have experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

    • Within the past 14 days, you have been in close physical contact (6 feet or closer for at least 15 minutes) with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 or has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

    • You are isolating or quarantining because you may have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 or are worried that you may be sick with COVID-19.

    • You are currently waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test.

    • You have traveled to a state with a COVID-19 test positvity rate above 10% in the last 14 days.

Finally, a disruption to our service due to an outbreak would be detrimental to our community and a break in the food chain. CCC’s guidelines for volunteering are subject to change and do not supersede any local, state, and/or federal orders put into place. Volunteers should always refer to Baltimore County’s latest COVID-19 updates and guidance

Please fill out the CCC Volunteer Application below if you are interested in volunteering.
